WINDSONG is based on Cockleshell Hero, the first Woods design that we built in 1979. We lived on it for 5 years and sailed it to Norway and the Baltic. After we sold it it was cruised to W Africa and is now in the Azores.
With its open deck layout and deep V hulls it is a simple boat to build. The "wings" on the inner hull sides double as cockpit seats and add large lockers on the inside which also give a great illusion of space.
It is about the smallest sensible boat for ocean cruising - several have made Atlantic crossings. Both fractional and masthead rigs are available. There is a centreboard in one hull (under the saloon seat) to help prevent leeway and speed tacking.
