The Coastal Passage 30 was designed to fill a niche in the small trawler market. Designed in collaboration with Charles Neville, noted trawler designer, this trawler has serious cruising potential. Although diminuative in size, COASTAL PASSAGE 30 is a stout cruiser with serious passage making capability. She is designed for distance cruising in comfort and safety trawler yachts are know for. She will have a steady feel of a serious cruising yacht. She will be economical to build and operate for long distances on very little fuel. She has accommodations for two or four in two separate cabins with standing headroom throughout. She has generous accommodations for a boat her size and no-nonsense looks. The COASTAL PASSAGE 30 is suitable for lengthening to 34 feet.
Construction is Stitch and Glue plywood and epoxy over straight frames and bulkheads. A steel version is available. The hull will go together quickly and finish and trim will take the most time depending on the level of finish desired by the owner. Plans include: materials, lines, set-up, construction, and arrangement.
Estimated cost for quality construction materials (not including power) is $4 to $6 per pound. This cost includes a high level of outfit and finish you can be proud of after putting the effort into building this fine boat.
